Designs by Kate Renaissance clothing is designed, created and manufactured by Kate Douglas, a talented artisan who takes great pride in her quality and craftsmanship. Kate lives now lives and works in Yerington, NV after year in Las Vegas, and has designed, manufactured and maintained the wardrobe of many of the shows on the Las Vegas "Strip," and has headed the wardrobe department for several of them.

 Kate has spent over 40 years in wardrobe and costuming. She has been an instructor in the Theatre Arts Department at East Los Angeles Junior College and at San Bernardino State. She taught set & costume design and creation for the City of San Bernardino as part of the Recreation Department's "Central City Playhouse." She has designed and created the costumes for many dozens of plays and musicals.

Kate caught the Faire bug many years ago. She kept checking out the clothing being sold and costumes being worn by the participants and faire-goers and said "I can do better than that!" She wanted her products to be durable, quality clothing, not "costumes." So, let a few years pass ......

Several years ago, Kate designed her first cloak and manufactured a half-dozen to try them out at the Las Vegas Faire. They sold out immediately. People appreciated her level of quality and her careful attention to detail. She has now designed a complete line of period clothing for men that includes shirts, leines, pants, cloaks, capes, jerkins, doublets, cowls, monk's ensembles, robes, belts, and flat caps.

Kate is ably assisted by her daughter, Kasey Nichols, who lives has moved to Yerington with her; by Maria Perry our latest addition to our faire family and  by Paul and Eirene Coleman who help staff our booth at some  Faires and Festivals; and our mascot, Grendl, who harasses UPS, FedEx and USPS delivery men and generally keeps the neighborhood in line.
