Leines

Click here for more and larger pictures of my leines Leine (roughly pronounced LANE-yeh) is the Gaelic word for "shirt". It doesn't refer to any particular kind ... it is used for any sort of shirt.

The leine was (and is) commonly worn in Ireland and Scotland by both sexes. It is a very full, very long shirt (all sizes are 44" long from the shoulder seam) with full cut sleeve. This style was common with the worker and warrior as the sleeves did not get in the way nor show the affluence of the longer sleeves of the Royal Leine seen below. The sleeves have a cord which runs from the shoulder to the wrist. Sleeve length can be adjusted by pulling up the sleeve and tying off the cord.

Machine wash with like colors in cold or warm water and line dry. Suitable for men or women.

Some shrinkage is to be expected, but it will not get smaller across only a little shorter
Available in dark oatmeal cotton or linen/rayon blend in natural or black.

Measure your chest and waist. Use the larger measurement to select your size.
