These linen/rayon tunics are embellished with non metallic trim 1-1/4 inch available in royal blue, burgundy and forest green. click here to view. They have a 3/4" length sleeves and neckline is faced. Ideal for men or women. They are available in natural (temporarily out) or black. Although I can not authenticate the pattern we created, they have been very well received at both Renaissance Fairs and SCA events. Some shrinkage is to be expected, but it will not get smaller across only a little shorter. Sizes

The leine was (and is) commonly worn in Ireland and Scotland by both sexes. It is a very full, very long shirt (all sizes are 44" long from the shoulder seam) with full cut sleeve. This style was common with the worker and warrior as the sleeves did not get in the way nor show the affluence of the longer sleeves of the Royal Leine seen below. The sleeves have a cord which runs from the shoulder to the wrist. Sleeve length can be adjusted by pulling up the sleeve and tying off the cord.

Leine (roughly pronounced LANE-yeh) is the Gaelic word for "shirt". It doesn't
refer to any particular kind ... it is used for any sort of shirt.

These Leines were patterned to represent the leine shown in the picture of the "Irish Chieftains" circa 1500's in a museum in Oxford, England
